Sesame Mala Bourbon Shot


  • 1 oz sesame fat washed bourbon
  • ⅓ oz simple syrup
  • Bullet chili sauce


  1. Shake 10 oz bourbon and 2 oz white sesame oil in a bottle (start 2 days ahead)
  2. Let rest overnight
  3. Pour into freezer-safe container and let freeze for a few hours or overnight
  4. Heavy solids (fat) will freeze on top - discard those and you can use the remaining bourbon
  5. Mix bourbon and simple syrup, stir with ice or chill prior to serving
  6. Top with a few drops of the oil (no solids) from bullet chili sauce (you can scale this up to serve as a cocktail on ice, if desired)
