In 2019, Taiwan became the first country in Asia to legalize same-sex marriage, a milestone that established its reputation as one of the most LGBTQ+ friendly countries in Asia. Since its first Pride parade in 2003, Taiwan’s annual Pride celebration has grown exponentially—to the point that it is now among the largest in East Asia. To this day, activists and allies in Taiwan continue to advocate for LGBTQ+ rights across platforms.

One such organizer is the Taiwan Equality Campaign 彩虹平權大平台, a coalition of women’s rights and LGBTQ+ rights organizations focused on advocating for LGBTQ+ rights in Taiwan. They designed this rainbow flag, which has been flown in pride events worldwide from Taiwan to New York. Get one to display in your home or to carry at a Pride parade near you. Taiwan Equality Campaign 彩虹平權大平台 was first formed in 2016 as the Marriage Equality Coalition. After the legalization of same-sex marriage in Taiwan, the coalition was renamed to Taiwan Equality Campaign. Beyond marriage rights, they work on advocacy, political participation, social communication, and international collaboration to fight for true equality for the LGBTQ+ community in Taiwan.
