This vegetarian dumpling recipe bundle puts a Hakka-style spin on the original egg-and-tofu-based Bloom and Blossom Dumplings 花素蒸餃. Inspired by preserved radish omelet 菜脯蛋, these dumplings include preserved daikon radish, which adds salty, piquant crunch to a rich filling of egg, firm tofu, green beans, and bean thread noodles.
It is part of a series of three Lunar New Year dumpling bundles curated in partnership with The Dumpling Club, an online course by recipe developer CHOOCHOO-ca-CHEW. Because of their resemblance to Chinese ingots, dumplings symbolize prosperity—eat them in abundance to usher in wealth and good fortune for the coming year.
Each bundle includes the seasonings and tools you need to cook a Dumpling Club recipe that reinterprets a Taiwanese homestyle dish into a dumpling. For more flavors, check out the Fly’s Head Dumpling Bundle and the Gu Gu Chicken Dumpling Bundle.
While supplies last, every order placed during the Lunar New Year period will also receive a Little Dumpling Book, with six Taiwanese dumpling recipes by The Dumpling Club, as well as a code for 10% off their online course.

About The Dumpling Club
The Dumpling Club is an invitation to cook alongside Tiffany of
CHOOCHOO-ca-CHEW in your own kitchen. It will transform the way you cook, taste, and understand dumplings—giving you the confidence to make them part of everyday meals and meaningful celebrations alike.
What started as a way for Tiffany to reconnect with her Taiwanese roots through dough and filling has become an online dumpling masterclass that turns folding into a cultural journey. She’ll guide you through making soft, chewy wrappers and juicy, flavor-rich dumplings from scratch—showing you what to look for, what to feel, and why it matters.
Along the way, she will share the tips behind techniques, family stories, her mom’s secret recipes, and how thoughtful, high-quality Taiwanese ingredients elevate every bite. This is slow, intentional food—meant to be shared, remembered, and passed on.
Cook along at home, deepen your craft, or host a dumpling party with people you love. Join The Dumpling Club. Sign up today at

Tasting Notes and Usage
Preserved Daikon Radish: piquant, salty, and potent with a snappy, crisp texture that can be described as “cui cui de” 脆脆的
Soak in water for 5 minutes, then rinse and drain to remove excess salt.
Add whole to chicken soup or dice and make Preserved Radish Omelet 菜脯蛋. Also great for adding saltiness to stir-fries.
—
Soy Paste with Glutinous Rice Grains: red miso and chocolate, studded with the soft bite of short-grain rice
This soy paste makes an excellent dip for radish cakes 蘿蔔糕 and danbing 蛋餅 or sauce for steamed vegetables (our go-to ratio is one part soy paste to one part water). It's also delicious as a stir-fry seasoning, such as when preparing fillings for cabbage rice.
—
White Sesame Oil: fragrant, sweet and slightly bitter with notes of toast and caramel
Add a small dash at the end of a stir fry or on your steamed fish or vegetables.
—
MSG: 100% umami shards
Use sparingly as a flavor enhancer to intensify the savoriness or meatiness of your soups and stews, stir-fries, braises, or anything else you’re looking to zhuzh up. We love it in stir-fried kong xin cai 空心菜, dry noodles, and steamed egg.
