A FAMILY-OWNED OPERATION
The product of a mixed Malaysian-Taiwanese family, Mama Nyonya is husband-and-wife team Yishan and Ewe, who produce their chili sauce in Central Taiwan using a recipe of Peranakan origin from Ewe’s great-grandmother.

THE KEY TO THE FLAVOR
Key to the sauce's fresh flavor is He Mei 和美蒜 garlic grown by Yishan's family. After tasting this hard neck garlic with smaller, spicier cloves than other varieties, Ewe's great-grandmother had encouraged the couple to make the sauce commercially.
