This refurbished Tatung Electric Rice Cooker and Steamer has been restored using genuine Tatung parts and components. Each unit is thoroughly inspected and tested to ensure it is fully functional and ready to use.

To mitigate waste, we work closely with an authorized Tatung repair service to restore units and offer them to you at up to 23% off retail. Packaging may show signs of slight wear. There are two categories of refurbished conditions:

• Like New: Looks and feels just like a brand new Tatung
• Gently Used: The interior may show light signs of wear but does not impact functionality, and the exterior will still appear like new

These units have the same one year limited warranty that’s included with new steamers. The warranty covers defective material and workmanship in your Tatung product, inclusive of the cost of shipping from the customer to the service facility.

The Tatung steamer—an essential Taiwanese appliance that has been in production for over 60 years—is beloved not only for its simplicity and versatility, but also for its durability and longevity, in part thanks to Tatung’s network of authorized repair services. Though known primarily as a rice cooker, the Tatung is actually a double boiler and steamer. Use it to gently cook braises and stews, steam breads and buns, and reheat leftovers. A simple and flexible cooker with many applications, it is an icon of classic Taiwanese design and daily life.

This appliance and included accessories (other than the rice cup and rice paddle) are made from 18-8 (SUS304) stainless steel, which is corrosion-resistant, easy to clean, and non-reactive when exposed to acidic foods. The stainless steel Tatung steamers are a healthy, high-quality alternative to Teflon-coated rice cookers, which may contain harmful chemicals that may wear away or be released into the air under certain conditions.

This is the largest size that we sell, with plenty of elbow room for heavy duty kitchen tasks, like steaming a whole fish, braising a whole chicken, making bone broth, or simply making that party sized batch of rice you always wanted. It can cook up to 11 cups of rice, which will feed your book club (unless you have some kind of really popular book club). It does everything the 6-cup can do, but on a larger scale.

FAQ and Warranty

Q: How is this different from the 6-cup steamer?

A: It’s a larger size that has the same functionality, but fits more. For example, instead of steaming a fillet of fish, you can steam a whole fish. It’s a great size for a mid- to large-sized household or even an individual who loves to host and cook for parties.

Q: What is the voltage of your Tatung Steamers and can I use a Tatung Steamer outside the US?

A: The Tatung steamers we distribute are designed for 110-120V, which is standard in the US. If you'd like to use your Tatung steamer in a country with 220V power, you will need to use a step down transformer that converts 220V to 110V, and then plug the appliance into that transformer. We recommend this one with 2000W, but any quality step-down transformer with adequate wattage will work.

The Table of Rice to Water Cooking Ratios is located in the Tatung user manual, which is included in every package. This table is a general suggestion for short-grain white rice. Depending on the type of rice used and the desired texture, the amount of water may need to be adjusted.
